Why We Chose The Ritz-Carlton on Seven Mile Beach
Nestled on the iconic Seven Mile Beach, The Ritz-Carlton Grand Cayman offers an upscale escape with white-glove service, unbeatable ocean views, and world-class dining. Dining at the Resort: From Breakfast to Sushi Nights
Dining at The Ritz-Carlton was a highlight of our stay. Each restaurant offered its own unique flair, and we got to experience three of them.
Breakfast at Seven
Every morning began with a complimentary breakfast at Seven, the resort’s signature restaurant. The selection was generous, from tropical fruits to made-to-order eggs and Caribbean specialties, served with beachfront views and friendly, attentive service. We had the option of sitting inside or outside, and no reservations were required.

Fresh fruit, custom omelets, and ocean breezes — mornings at Seven are hard to beat
Dinner at Seven & Taikun
We returned to Seven one evening for dinner, enjoying a perfectly cooked filet mignon paired with an exceptional wine list. Another night, we dined at Taikun, The Ritz-Carlton’s refined sushi restaurant. The miso black cod and the chef’s omakase selection were absolute standouts.

Seven delivered an upscale dinning experience right in the heart of the Caribbean
Lunch at Andiamo Circolo Sportivo
For a more casual vibe, Andiamo was our go-to for lunch. The waterfront location made it feel like a tucked-away secret. The pizzas were fresh, flavorful, and perfect for a midday recharge.

The Location: Prime Spot on Seven Mile Beach
The resort is ideally located on Seven Mile Beach, one of the most famous stretches of sand in the Caribbean. The beach is pristine, and the Ritz maintains its section beautifully so there is no need to rush for a sunbed here. Plus, you’re close to local hotspots if you want to explore off-property.

Service & Amenities: Classic Ritz-Carlton Excellence
The staff across the resort were warm, professional, and thoughtful, exactly what you expect from The Ritz-Carlton name. From poolside towel service to sunset cocktails by the beach, everything was elevated.
Notable amenities include:
- A massive beachfront infinity pool as well as an additional pool on the non-beach side of the resort
- Non-motorized water sports (included)
- Spa & fitness center
- Tennis and basketball courts
- Family activities and a kids’ club
What Could Be Improved
Our stay was overwhelmingly positive, but no review is complete without balance:
- Resort pricing is steep (especially food & drink), though typical for Grand Cayman.
- Some public areas were busier during peak hours, so consider booking spa or beach activities, and exclusive beach lounge areas in advance. We also went during one of the island’s busiest weeks of the year (March).
Final Verdict: Is The Ritz-Carlton Grand Cayman Worth It?
Absolutely. If you’re looking for a luxurious beachfront resort with elevated service, stunning views, and incredible dining, The Ritz-Carlton Grand Cayman delivers on every front. It’s ideal for couples, families, and anyone craving indulgence in paradise.

FAQ: Staying at The Ritz-Carlton Grand Cayman
Is the Ritz-Carlton Grand Cayman on Seven Mile Beach?
Yes! It sits directly on Seven Mile Beach, offering private beach access and pristine sand.
Is this resort family-friendly or better for couples?
Both. The resort is genuinely built for both crowds: the family pool and Starfish Cay water playground sit apart from the quieter oceanfront pool and spa area, so couples looking for a calmer scene aren’t competing with splash pads for lounge chairs.
What’s included with the resort fee?
The daily resort fee (currently around $110/night, plus 10% service charge and 13% government tax) includes complimentary morning coffee and tea in the Silver Palm Lounge, access to Starfish Cay’s water playground, non-motorized water sports, Wi-Fi, and fitness center access. Double-check the current amount before booking, as resort fees change.
When is the best time to book for good rates?
September offers the best rates, with 1-bedroom oceanfront rooms averaging roughly $600-$1,030/night. July is a close second. Rates climb sharply in winter and peak in January and March, when the same rooms can run $1,350-$2,480/night. However, note that mid-August through October is the height of hurricane season. Remember that rates fluctuate based on demand and booking window, so check current pricing before you book.
Is the Ritz-Carlton better than the Kimpton Seafire?
It depends on what you want. The Ritz-Carlton wins on scale, offering more restaurants, a full kids’ club, and classic full-service luxury. The Kimpton Seafire leans more boutique and design-forward, with an adults-only pool option that appeals to couples who want a quieter, more curated feel. Neither is objectively “better.” The Ritz suits travelers who want everything under one roof, while the Seafire suits those who want a smaller, more intimate property.
Is the Ritz-Carlton or the Grand Cayman Marriott a better value?
The Marriott is the more budget-friendly of the two, with solid rooms and beach access at a lower nightly rate. The Ritz-Carlton costs more but delivers a noticeably higher level of dining, service, and amenities, including the island’s only Forbes 5-star restaurant, Blue by Eric Ripert. If price is your main constraint, the Marriott is the smarter pick. If you’re specifically after a splurge-worthy stay, the Ritz justifies the gap.
Which Seven Mile Beach resort is best for couples?
All three can work for a couples’ trip, but they suit different styles. The Ritz-Carlton is best for couples who still want resort-wide amenities and options. The Kimpton Seafire is the strongest pick for couples specifically prioritizing a quiet, adults-leaning atmosphere. The Marriott is a solid, more affordable option for couples who don’t need ultra-luxury to have a great trip.
Which resort is best for families with kids?
The Ritz-Carlton and the Grand Cayman Marriott both offer kids’ clubs and family-friendly pools, making either a strong choice. The Ritz edges ahead on sheer amenities, with six restaurants, a bigger property, and tennis and basketball courts, while the Marriott offers a more budget-conscious family option without sacrificing beach access.
